He had no Christian family upbringing and was saved at about 18 years of age. He began his assembly journey at Campsie Assembly in Sydney. He was an Elder at the Katoomba, Cardiff and Towong assemblies. He taught the Word of God and preached the Gospel in each location and took devotions for the folk at Bethany for many years. A man of simple means as the world would see but a gifted preacher and teacher; wise in the Word of God.
